    Life is full of choices

Michael is always in a good mood and always has something positive to say. When someone asks him how he is doing, he will reply, “If I were any better, I’d be twins!”
His style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Michael and asked him, “I don’t get it. You can’t be positive all the time. How do you do it?
Michael replied, “Each morning I wake up and say to myself, ‘Mike, you can choose to be in a good mood or in a bad mood.’ I choose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me complaining, I choose to point out the positive side of life.”
Then Michael added, “Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people will affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line is: It’s your choice how you live your life.” I reflected on what Michael said.
Several years later, I heard Michael was involved in a serious accident, falling off a communications tower.
After 18 hours of surgery, and weeks of intensive care, Michael came out of the hospital with rods placed in his back. When seeing me, he said, “If I were any better, I’d be twins!” I asked him what had gone through his mind as the accident took place.
“The first thing that went through my mind was the well-being of my soon-to-be-born daughter,” he replied, “Then, as I lay on the ground, I thought I had to live.”
Mike lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude. I learned from him that every day we can choose to live fully. Attitude is everything.

    A cup of tea...

“Please have a cup of tea,” I wish I could invite you at the moment.
You know, when chatting over a cup of tea with friends, I often try to collect in mind all words, expressions in eyes and smiles of friends as though the meeting would never return after saying goodbye. On the ceremony, I love the words “a meeting in a lifetime”, which seemly means that one should feel grateful for every time with friends to drink tea together. Because it might allow no what-ifs, and there would be no going back to the beginnings.
As you can see, how rare, how grave and how nice the only meeting is to us! Many people often think that life always changes quickly and suddenly, so everyone is pursuing happiness and joyfulness. What is joyfulness? One aspect is to meet our bosom friends again. Judging from this, how many roads must we run and toil down with hardships and frustrations before the meeting calls us together? Yet, the meeting that touches our hearts may become the story of our lives; the smile that warms our hearts may become the flowers of our pleasure and joy; the silence that inspires our hearts may become the accomplishment of all our words significant or vaguely conscious. Ah, here is just a cup of tea and please enjoy it carefully because it has drawn the essence of tea trees and is created by the sun and the earth.
To be honest, we are fortune’s favorite of the brave new world, which gave us a meeting lasting for such a long time and made us know each other well. Probably this is a catch in a lifetime, isn’t it?
